Fracttal-SAP Integrations

In this page, you will find information on how an integration between Fracttal and SAP works, solving the most common concerns when dealing with this topic.

Fracttal Integrations

Fracttal is a cloud software that offers its customers an integration API at no additional cost, through which our users can query, update, create and delete information in the different Fracttal modules.

Our API provides flexibility to communicate with Fracttal allowing custom integrations, custom reports with tools such as Power BI and more.

Fractal Api is composed of a set of REST web services (POST, PUT, GET, DELETE) that are documented on the website https://api.fracttal.com.

Fractal integrations consist of sending and/or receiving information between an external system. The information flow will depend on the client's needs and business processes.

To integrate with Fracttal, an intermediate program will be needed between both applications, which will be in charge of communicating with each platform, processing the information and taking it to the other system.

Fracttal - SAP Integration

The integrations between Fracttal and SAP are one of the most common integrations, due to the large number of clients that this ERP has.

Communication

As explained above, to have an external communication with Fracttal we use the APIS that are published and for the use of all our customers.

The communication with SAP will depend on the SAP version implemented and the recommendations of the technical team in charge of the implementation and maintenance of the tool in the company.

For example, for the SAP Bo version, the most advisable communication method is through web services that are developed according to the needs of the process to be integrated.

In this case, the communication program between the platforms can be in a cloud server, since it does not depend on the SAP network or Fracttal to obtain the information.

On the other hand, the SAP R3 version offers functions (RFC) or BAPIS for communication with the different modules. In this case, the communication program between the platforms must be in a server that is in the same SAP network, in order to have access to SAP, and at the same time, the server must have Internet access in order to communicate with Fracttal.

Example of integrations performed

The most common integrations made between SAP and Fracttal are related to the Warehouse module (Fracttal) and Materials module (SAP) and consist of:

  • SAP becomes the master of materials this means that all movements such as outputs, inputs, purchases and others are made in the system and Fracttal becomes a mirror of the materials information, that is, it will only be responsible for receiving information from SAP, generally receives material information such as quantity available, costs, unit of measure among others. This communication between platforms is done through an integration and is in order to manage maintenance with the actual resources that the company has.

  • Fracttal sends to SAP the amount of resources or materials used in maintenance. This is so that through integration can be done in SAP warehouse outputs and returns corresponding to the execution of the work order.

  • Integration related to physical assets:

  • SAP becomes the master of the physical asset information and manages all its information such as depreciation, costs, among others. Fracttal creates and updates the assets consulted through integration from SAP. Fracttal performs all the asset management regarding maintenance.
